Quiet area on the bank of Crocodile river. Staff, Moses was great showing us wild life; we saw hippo on land just in front of the view deck in the morning slowly entering the river; as predicted by Moses the night before .

I had great deal on this property but it got even better when we arrived and met the lovely host Sandi. She's so warm and friendly she made us feel at right at home. Sandi was even nice enough to share her cooking oil. Although the property itself is great, the greatest asset they have is the host. Thank you Sandi and keep up doing the good work.

No breakfast was self catering and the location was perfect. Thank you we will definately stay again
Easy access and quick access. We went off season but had pre-booked with SANParks, so a word of warning, don't pre-book unless it's high season to guarantee access. It doesn't specify this when booking, so we thought we were paying the conservation fees.
You're free to roam around in your own vehicle and don't need an off-roader. There is an abundance of wildlife so you don't even need to stay for 3 days. We went for 2 hours on our own and saw elephants, rhinos, 'pumbas' and impalas.
The toilets are few and far between so either go when you find them or you'll have to do it at the side of the road...without straying into the Bush.
We then went for a full day with a guide who knows the area better and took us to the watering holes we probably would've never found on our own, where giraffes, wildebeest, hippos and elephants were all hanging out.
A note about Malaria: we read that malaria was found around Kruger and had conflicting advice about taking anti-malaria tablets. In the end, we just covered our legs and arms (even though it was hot) and sprayed mosquito repellent with 50% deet.
In short, Kruger is a must, but don't expect to see leopards or cheetahs, as they are, quite literally, impossible to 'spot'.

Malelane is very beautiful and easy to get around.
Malelane is very beautiful and easy to get around. I loved the wild life the most, it was pleasant view to watch the birds and animals roaming around freely. The staff at the gate were very friendly and helpful. Wish I had more time to give a constructive review but went to the park for just half a day and managed to see some of the big 5 which was the purpose of my visit.

Pastana still remains for me the most affordable best and well managed accommodation in Malelane.
The Restuarant always meet my expectation of the wide spread of eats available.
Malelane is very easy to navigate. It has all the amenities to accommodate a travelers needs
The town is very clean .
I would avoid accommodation I have not visited before. A picture tell a thousand tales. But some can be very deceiving and uncomfortable.

Malelane town is totally unappealing.
Malelane town is totally unappealing. The only reason for staying in the suburb we stayed in was a) it is outside the town and b) is close to the Kruger Park entrance. We stayed in Mhlathikop suburb, which is nice and can be recommended.
It is being in the Kruger National Park without having to pay park fees!!
Right on the Southern banks of the Crocodile river, the Croc River lapa is a place to visit again and again. There is peace to be found in the quiet when you sit on the veranda gazing out over the river and the abundant wildlife comes and goes in regular in intervals. See hippo, crocs, waterbuck, impala, warthog, elephants, other species and the occasional predator on the river while sitting on the veranda.
The location of Pestana Kruger Lodge, to be so close to the Malelane Gate, is great. The room was good and well situated to form part of the beautiful nature. The deck with views over the Crocodile River is the best place to be after a day in the park. The menu of the restaurant is small, but the food was excellent! The breakfast was also very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay here!
The view was amazing! From the deck a wide view across the river and the border of Kruger N.P. We saw elephants, deer, antilopes, a lot of birds etc walk/fly from the deck.
The place is located in a quiet area, not to far from Malelane Gate.
Rooms are spacious and clean.
There is a nice pool, but we didn't get a chance to use it due to the weather.
Safe parking area.
Nice and polite staff.
Food was very basic but tasted ok.
Amazing property!
We were staying here while on a visit to Kruger.
The location was just perfect. so close to Melalane gate . The restaurant packed us a lovely breakfast for our early start for the day.
The rooms were bare minimum but were exactly what we needed - comfortable & clean.
We also had dinner at the restaurant - tasty food & great service.
This accommodation was perfect for our visit to Kruger Park. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The Lodge is only about a 15 minute drive to the Malelane gate and located on the Crocodile River. The restaurant has the most spectacular views of the river with sunsets that did not disappoint. The food was excellent and exceeded our expectation.
Excellent location, about 12-15 min drive to the Kruger Malelane gate. Beautiful area, very clean and neat, comfortable bed & excellent kitchen amenities. It would be excellent if the property included a mini splash pool to cool off in. Coffee machine was a bonus along with the complimentary wine, filtered water & chocolates in the fridge!

Would definitely recommend this place. Joy and Allan are great hosts, happy to help with anything. The check-in was smooth we got there a little earlier than expected and they accommodated us on that. The place is great and relaxing and the Malelane Kruger gate is about 5mins away. Will come back for sure!
Room was cozy and nice modern toilet (better than the pictures!).
Air conditioning and fridge were really useful.
The location is just amazing, you can spot many animals from the terrace, and it's just 10 min from Kruger gate
Great location to stay at before or after going to Kruger National Park. The room was clean and comfortable and spacious. The couch bed was comfortable for an adult. Lovely toiletries. Good security and very close to the N4.
Really comfortable stay at a gorgeous location. Infinity and lawn in front of the house is spectacular. Jabu was really helpful, eager and friendly. Conveniently located close to the Malelane Kruger Park Gate.
Great views (both from the room balcony and the viewing deck) over looking the Crocodile River into the Kruger National Park. Beautifully maintained gardens. The staff is very accommodating and friendly.
We loved our stay. We saw hippo, crocodile, impala, elephant, warthog, waterbuck across the Crocodile River in Kruger all from the deck. Enjoyed swimming in the pool and delicious breakfasts!
The Kruger national park drive, Bathabile made sure we are well informed about the animals. We saw a lions, 2 leopards, rhinos, hippos and elephants. Totally worth it
The quirkiness, the quiet restfulness, the position so close to Malelane gate, friendliness of staff and owners. Good views into Kruger across the river.
